bodhisattva
Drawing from South Asian iconography, Bodhisattva presents an inquiry into the future of human worship. The series is created through a new artistic process where images are laboriously drawn by hand, then scanned, printed, and digitally modified. This process is repeated many times.
The iterative cycles of drawing and digital modification blurs the boundaries between the physical and digital realms. Through these images, I explore humanity's connection with the natural world and our growing affinity for technology. As we evolve, we may shift our worship from the natural world to machines and synthetic realities.
My art prompts reflection on cultural evolution, tradition, and progress. It invites viewers to contemplate the intertwined paths of our past, present, and the potential futures we may embrace.
Each image is 30”x40”, Drawing, Mixed Media, and Gold Leaf.
